KAYLA IN HER OWN WORDS:

I am a wife, mother of 2 sons and 1 daughter.  I love life and looking through my lens to see all the adventures in a unique different perspective.  My photography journey began back in college in 2005 when I was introduced to the darkroom experience from a night class.  The idea of taking what you captured with this tiny machine and watching it reveal itself was very intriguing to me. This sparked a little light bulb in my brain. I began taking portraits of my family and friends, more for practice. This got my creative juices flowing and I knew right at that very moment that this was a strong passion I wanted to pursue and continue to enhance my skills.

In the past 8 years, I have photographed several families and have made several forever
friends from these sessions. Photography is like freezing time for those few seconds and
capturing that one moment as if you will relive it over and over again. Portraits are
keepsakes, a feeling in your life.  I have published the first of five coffee table books in this collection. Unique Vision, which released November 2021, has hit the shelves.  This coffee table book is more of a sneak peek into the different areas I have journeyed throughout my photography career. The bonus is, it is also a teaching book for individuals who want to learn photography.  You just might get some encouragement there, too.

What’s next for this photographer and author? In just a few months book #2, Beauty in the Details, releases for pre-order. Let me give you a little hint inside. It will focus on macro photography and give you breathtaking details. I look forward to many more adventures to come, but I know each chapter is going to be better than the last.
